Solent Maths Hub is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Oracy Lead, with a passion for mathematics education, to join our team. This new role focuses on developing oracy practices within the hub, and across our region, as part of our vision for an equitable maths education for all.

Role Overview
As the Oracy Lead and member of the hub leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of maths education within our region. Your expertise will guide the strategic development and implementation of oracy techniques within our LLME community and the range of work groups that we offer. The role is twelve days across the year, with funding of £4,400.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership and Management: Lead the strategic planning for oracy across the hub, support the leadership team in weaving the principles throughout our work
Professional Development: Design and deliver high-quality professional development sessions for maths teachers and leaders, driving forward the equity agenda
Collaboration and Support: Work closely with senior leadership teams, Mastery Specialists, and other stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to maths education improvement.
Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in maths education and oracy, integrating innovative practices and resources into the programme.
Evaluation and Impact: Monitor and evaluate the impact of the oracy focus, contributing to the hub’s overall strategy and reporting on progress to key stakeholders.
What we are looking for:
A deep, subject-specific knowledge of mathematics education
Proven experience in leading successful educational initiatives and professional development in maths.
A strong understanding of the teaching for mastery approach and its application within the UK educational context.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
A commitment to continuous professional learning and development.
A strong communicator, capable of expressing ideas clearly and actively listening to others.
Highly organized, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A team player, enthusiastic about collaborating with others to achieve common goals.
