Role Overview: as an Assistant Maths Hub Lead specialising in Post-16 education, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of maths education within our region. Your expertise will guide the strategic development and implementation of the mastery approach, creating a profound and lasting impact on teachers and learners alike.

Key responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management: Lead the strategic planning and delivery of the teaching for mastery programme for secondary schools and post-16 providers within the hub's area.
• Professional Development: Design and deliver high-quality professional development sessions for maths teachers and leaders, driving forward the mastery agenda.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with senior leadership teams, Mastery Specialists, and other stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to maths education improvement.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in maths education, integrating innovative practices and resources into the programme.
• Evaluation and Impact: Monitor and evaluate the impact of the mastery programme, contributing to the hub's overall strategy and reporting on progress to key stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

• A deep, subject-specific knowledge of mathematics education, particularly within the post-16 sector.
• Proven experience in leading successful educational initiatives and professional development in maths.
• A strong understanding of the teaching for mastery approach and its application within the UK educational context.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• A commitment to continuous professional learning and development.
• A strong communicator, capable of expressing ideas clearly and actively listening to others.
• Highly organised, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A team player, enthusiastic about collaborating with others to achieve common goals.
